Do our choices define our lives? How do we learn to make better choices in our life? How do we even recognize when we have made a good or bad choice?
Each choice we make is a decision we have carefully thought through, or not, and then act upon what we feel will bring us the wanted outcome. Weighing the pros and cons helps us determine the best outcome we are seeking at the time. But logically deciding on a choice is only one half of the equation. The other part has to do with our inner knowing of what the right choice is for us.
A good choice will always bring a feeling of relief, and you will feel this in your solar plexus. With a poor choice, there is no feeling of relief, only the discomfort you still feel within your body. This is how your body responds to the choices you make. Improved choices will allow your life to blossom and expand. The continued good choices improve your health, your immune system and your general outlook on life.
Continuing to make poor decisions about your life affects your health and life in negative ways. If your body responds with anxiety, fear, stress, and unhealthy feelings toward yourself, your energy is suppressed, and illness is often the result of your choices. Your emotional state suffers from the way your body feels. Soon, these feelings of depression and suffering, make you incapable of selecting actions that are to your benefit. And you begin to experience self-loathing as you slide further down into hopelessness.
If you discover that you are saying ‘yes’ and then regretting that, if you are setting aside your plans and goals for another, if you keep choosing the wrong path, understand and acknowledge that these choices are part of the lessons you need to learn. Consider the choices you have made and think about what better choices would have created in your life. The resulting uncomfortable feelings you carry within you are trying to tell you something.
When you make choices according to how your body feels from the choice, you are on your way to making better choices. You will realize that feeling good is the ultimate choice to make. With that as your goal, you will begin to choose that better choice and enjoy the enjoyable emotions you feel.
