When my stepfather died, my mom and I were standing beside his bed in the ICU. Immediately, I felt three angels in the room with us. They were floating near the ceiling. I couldn’t see them with my physical eyes, but I felt their energy and presence in the room through my heart center. Two of them were for my stepfather and one was there to help my mom with the loss of her husband of twenty-nine years. It was the first time I had felt the presence of angels so powerfully.
Many years later, I joined an angel circle presented by a lovely woman. I’ll just call her Grace for now. I didn’t really know very much about angels at the time. In the two years that I attended the circle twice each month, I learned so many interesting facts about them.
Each meeting, Grace would focus on a particular archangel, what color was associated with them, their specialty, and crystal. She would lead us in a spontaneous guided meditation with the evening’s archangel. She taught us how to communicate with them, talking to them as if they were old friends. The meeting always ended with each of us pulling an angel oracle card and Grace would gift each one of us with a mini reading. Her communication with the Archangels always brought through pertinent information.
I’m going to introduce a few archangels to you. They are some of the more familiar ones that we can call on everyday for guidance and protection.
Archangel Michael: His name means “he who is as God” or “he who looks like God”. Michael’s color is deep royal blue. His crystal is Sugilite. He is one of the overseers of all. Call upon Michael to protect you when you drive. Ask him to clear your way. He’s the archangel who releases the effects of fear from the planet and all its inhabitants. The patron of police officers, he gives all of us the courage and backbone to follow our truth and fulfill our Divine mission. Michael can assist you in remembering your life purpose, and then give you the courage to follow through on it.
Archangel Raphael: His name means “God heals”, and his color is emerald green. His crystal is emerald or malachite. Raphael is also one of the overseers of all. He’s in charge of physical healings. He helps all those dedicated to the promotion of health and wellness; this extends to those who are not yet active in this field. Call upon Raphael to heal any injuries or illnesses you or others (including animals) are suffering with. Ask him to help you with your healing work, including education and building a private practice. In addition, Raphael aids those who are traveling, so request that he ensure a harmonious and safe journey.
Archangel Gabriel: Her name means “God is my strength.” Her color is copper and copper is also her stone. Cancer is the astrological sign associated with Gabriel. She’s the messenger angel who helps all earthly messengers such as writers, teachers, and journalists. Call upon Gabriel to overcome fear or procrastination in any endeavor involving communication or any aspect of child conception, adoption, pregnancy and early childhood.
Guardian Angels: We each have a guardian angel that has been with us since our birth into this life. They are assigned to protect us and will be with us our entire life. They are always at our side. As a silent and trustworthy advisor, our angel stays by our side, trying to advise us for the best, to suggest the right path to follow, and above all to be good people.
To work with the angels, we have to ask for their help. Because we have free will, angels cannot help us unless we ask them. It can be a more involved prayer but a simple request such as “Archangel Michael, thank you for all that you do every day. Please watch over me as I travel (or whatever). Keep me safe and please keep everyone around me safe also.” I like to add everyone as I wouldn’t want something to happen to anyone I was with or near.
